Law of 22 Prairial or Liberals Finally Learn From History

As a student of history I am always digging around in the past. It is often a wonderful, eye opening and sometimes very difficult hobby to have. History is replete with stories of good and evil, life and death, right and wrong, clarity and confusion and action and indifference. Even so, I never thought I would live to see the French Revolution in person.

During the French Revolution, Georges Couthon, an ally of Robespierre on the infamous Committee Of Public Safety, introduced on 10 June 1794, the Law of 22 Prairial. The law was named for the day it was passed under the new and improved French Republican Calendar. The stated purpose of the law was to expedite the handling of traitors to the state. The unstated purpose of the law was to allow the tyrants of the committee to execute their opposition with as little “legal” maneuvering by the accused as possible. Under this law, the accusation became the conviction. Trials, evidence or witnesses were no longer needed. The accused were not even allowed to mount a defense. They were accused and beheaded as quickly as the overworked guillotine could be pressed into service.

It seems that liberals, democrats and progressives have been studying up on their French Revolution history lately. The Kavanaugh charade forced upon us by these intolerant and hateful political hacks is proof that they are capable of not only learning but of sincere imitation as well. Like the vile Law 22, liberals expect the unproven, unsubstantiated and clearly politically timed accusations against Kavanaugh to serve as his indisputable conviction. Thus convicted, he and his family must pay the price for potentially betraying the precious liberal political agenda.

Like the tens of thousands of innocent French men and women butchered during the “revolution” Brett Kavanaugh needs to be destroyed with as little opportunity to defend himself as possible. He must be denied a defense at every turn. Even worse, his family must be made to suffer excruciatingly before they too are finally consumed in the fires of progressive self righteous indignation.

The public savaging of Kavanaugh and his family will, liberals hope, serve as a prime example of what happens to decent and honorable people who cross the Committee. The message must get out loud and clear, only Committee approved applicants need apply, for any position.

The ally of today’s self righteous little Robespierre’s, liberals, democrats and progressives all, is the media. The alleged journalists of this self anointed Committee Of Public Safety pursue political correctness and gender loyalty with a blind fervor that would earn the heartfelt smile of both Robespierre himself and his mentor, the devil.

The reign of terror in France was finally ended with many of the Committee Of Public Safety members experiencing the cutting edge of the guillotine. It is hard to deny that there was a certain amount of poetic justice in their end. The guillotine is no longer an option today but the ballot box is. It is time we stopped electing Senators and Congressmen who defer to today’s version of the Committee instead of representing we, the American People.

There is an old saying that goes along the lines of “those who don’t remember history are doomed to repeat it.” Smiling broadly, Robespierre, Stalin, Hitler, Mao, Pol Pot, Amin and a hundred other murderous tin plated dictators, from the hottest parts of hell, bathed in the blood of their victims, look at today’s liberal democrats and smiling hopefully think, “Well done comrades, well done indeed.”

Proposition 2 And The Road To Hell

I am going to alienate myself from a lot of my “friends” with this writing. So be it.

The President and CEO of the Next Generation Freedom Fund, Paul Mero, said in an opinion piece he wrote that, “The Utah Medical Marijuana Initiative is neither needed as a practical matter nor good public policy generally. The truth is the Utah Medical Marijuana Initiative is a ruse being perpetrated by Utah libertarians and radicalized potheads across the country – regardless of the good people these deceivers front as medically needy. The D.C. lobbyists at the Marijuana Policy Project, old hippies at NORML and our own liberty-loving kooks at Libertas Institute feign a non-existent morality – some pot-induced moral code that only consuming marijuana will appease. Let me be as blunt as I can: You must be high to think this initiative is a good idea.” I agree. Completely. Wholeheartedly. Absolutely.

Lets be honest here. This is nothing more than a group of virtue signaling progressive pot smokers desperately seeking to crack the door open to recreational drug use in Utah. They are using a well developed plan perfected in states like California, Washington and Oregon, to name a few. They customize it here in Utah with the “medical” claim but the end results will be the same. They hide behind the pain of people who are really suffering. While I have great sympathy for anyone who suffers, this is merely a clever and disgusting tactic designed to prevent any argument by people opposed to their deception.

Full disclosure here, I have a child, soon to be 30 years old, who has been a full blown drug addict for the last 15 of those years. I know from first hand experience exactly what drugs can do. I also know that there are non marijuana substitutes that do everything pot supposedly does but are accurately dosed and can be prescribed by any doctor and filled by any pharmacy in the country. These facts make Proposition 2 wholly unnecessary. Claiming a “medical” need is simply misleading at best.

Who is supporting this assault on reason? The undoubtedly well meaning Utah Patience’s Coalition, TRUCE, the Marijuana Policy Project and the Libertas Institute. Also, lot of well intentioned but vastly uneducated or misinformed Utah citizens and every drug dealer in the state.

Opposing this insanity dressed up as compassion are: The Utah Medical Association, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the PTA, Utah Narcotics Officers Association, Utah Eagle Forum, D.A.R.E. Utah, DEA Salt Lake Metro Narcotics Task Force, Drug Safety Advisers, Utah Sheriff’s Association and the Utah Psychiatric Association. Or as I like to call them, the adults in the room.

Interestingly, the Utah Patients Coalition has raised $761,700 and spent $723,880 in support of the measure. Not surprisingly, most of that funding has come from out of state lobbying groups.

Drug Safe Utah has raised $167,180 and spent $72,120 to combat the cleverly disguised recreational pot bill.

Many people seemed to be all worked up about the LDS Church’s position on Prop 2. The church is formally opposed to Proposition 2. I guess these people feel more qualified to determine church doctrine than the churches leaders. It must be awesome to have that much power. All I can say is, if you want to belong to a church that is willing to subjugate itself to popular culture or vote every year on which parts of the Bible to believe in, there are plenty of those “churches” out there. They welcome the easily led.

Elder Jack N. Gerard, a General Authority Seventy with the LDS church, said, “The church does not object to the medicinal use of marijuana, if doctor-prescribed, in dosage form from a licensed pharmacy.” Apparently this much reason and intelligence are to difficult for the average finger in the wind “Christian”, Salt Lake Tribune writer/reader or mainstream media consumer to contemplate. Gerard said the measure “goes too far.” He is correct, it absolutely does.

I think it’s time the out of state pressure groups pushing this legal pot proposition be honest and just admit this is all about cracking the door to recreational drug use open in Utah.

As a child I was taught early and often that the road to hell was paved with good intentions. No one teaches that lesson anymore. The support for Prop 2 proves that.

So, how many bricks on that road would you like your name inscribed on?

Never Forget, Never Again

Another 9-11 anniversary has come and gone. It has been now 17 years since that tragic day awoke a sleeping giant in nearly the same way December 7, 1941 did. Unlike the day that will “live in infamy” the giant this time, sadly, soon went right back to sleep.

Today far to many people have no idea of the scope of what actually happened that day. That is a tragedy in and of itself. Compounding that sad reality is the fact that many of our “leaders” are just fine with that.

In Sandy, Utah, not far from my home a memorial service is held every year. It’s called “The Healing Field.” In short, it is a field of soft, green grass, with the majestic Rocky Mountains as the background, planted with a single flag for every one lost on that horrible day. Each flag carries a picture of the person who was murdered that day along with a short biography. Standing in the midst of all those flags, the true enormity of what happened that day is overwhelming. In a moment of silence one can almost hear the victims whispering to you in the flapping sounds of all those flags. No picture, no description will, or can, do it justice. It must be seen, and felt, in person.

The volunteers who man this testament to the lives stolen tell everyone that, if a flag touches you while you are walking around it is because that person wants you to get to know them. I suspect there is more truth to that than we can imagine. I have gotten to know many of the victims.

For a very short while after the attack, we were all Americans. Liberals, democrats and progressives (there is virtually no difference between them) ran to America’s defense, only to abandon her days later. That abandonment was swift, brutal, total and typical of how liberals, democrat and progressives think and act.

The poor souls who died in the towers were called “little Eichmans”, a hideous and completely fabricated NAZI reference whose only intent was to demean, or perhaps endorse, their murder.

We allowed our sworn enemy to blind us with the meaningless propaganda of “islamophobia.” We not only tolerated but accepted the inane concept that accurately describing islam made us “racists.” For the record islam is a religion not a race. (It is a sad indictment of our education system that something so blinding obvious needs to be explained)

Despite a complete lack of evidence, we have allowed ourselves to be browbeaten into accepting that hate crimes against moslems are at an all time high. In fact, nearly every “hate” crime reported ends up being an islamic perpetrated hoax. Even then, we are not allowed notice that fact.

Instead of mourning the hideousness of what was perpetrated in the name of their god, our alleged fellow citizens, the aforementioned liberals, democrats and progressives, have intentionally concocted a swirling, white hot mass of anti American vitriol which they spew with glee. For them, 9-11 is simply another “crisis” that must not be allowed “to go to waste.”

They have placed their cards on the table. They hate the country I love, the country me, my father and grandfather all served proudly. They actively despise the one country that has done more good for the entire world than any other country in the planets history. I get it. You are entitled to your opinion, however misguided, misinformed or evil it may be.

I have placed my cards on the table as well. I am just as pissed off over what happened 17 years ago now as I was then. I will not forget. I will do everything I can to be certain that something like that never happens again. I will point out at every opportunity the vapid stupidity of the America haters alleged facts. The victims, their families and those who survived 9-11 deserve nothing less.

Drowning in Syrup

It goes without saying that anyone who was a POW has a certain amount of hero in them. Once upon a time, John McCain was a hero. In trading his heroic time as a POW for political expediency nothing that followed would, or could, be heroic.

Now that the media/DNC has had their McCain orgasm, can we get back to reality?

As I have written in earlier articles, I have little appreciation for the so called “Maverick” of the Senate. For starters, he never met an illegal alien that he didn’t think was entitled to everything you had in your wallet. His wallet of course, was off limits.

As a person, of course I grieve for his and his families suffering. Being married to my wonderful wife only a couple of years less than McCain and his wife I think I can approximate how his wife is feeling about now. She and her family have my deepest sympathies. I will pray for all of them.

Even so, McCain chose to make himself a political figure and thus, while many cannot, I can separate the person from the opportunist, narcissistic political hack that was John McCain, the Senator. Think I am incorrectly describing him? You simply need to read news reports about him during his presidential run or any time he sided with his party or parties president. I mean, they even swore he was not an American citizen.

Isn’t it curious how all the members of the so called media and their democrat accomplices poured (or vomited, depending on your perspective) their “love” and “respect” for John McCain all over us? How they marveled at his “decency”, “honor” and “courage”. They positively gushed over the fact that he was always willing to “cross the aisle” to work with democrats, even though the democrats never returned the favor. For days on end it was one glowing love fest after another. All from the very same people that hated him for nearly his entire career and made no efforts to hide that fact. Apparently the leader of the senate republican surrender caucus will be much missed, by his political opponents and his fellow swamp dwelling republican co-conspiritors.

I didn’t watch any coverage after the first day so I may have missed it but, where were all his fellow POW’s? Seems to me if he was such a beloved leader during that time they would have been beating down the doors to extol his virtues. Like I said, I might have missed that.

Then there was the much ballyhooed “conflict” between McCain and President Trump, who allowed the McCain family the use of Air Force 2 even though he didn’t have to, was never far from every “deeply saddened” journalists report. The incident was intended by the media to be a blunt instrument with which to attack the president. I’m sure, from the warm place I suspect he now occupies, McCain beamed with appreciation at the medias efforts to burnish his “maverick”, “bipartisan” and “straight talking” credentials. Honestly though, he was never much of any of those things.

As a fellow sailor allow me to help you out. Johnny boy, you picked a fight with someone who punched back hard and you lost. I suspect that being Admiral Daddys boy meant you never learned the lesson everyone else by middle school learned in that scenario, namely, get over it. Like the self absorbed narcissist he was he simply couldn’t let go of the “insult” from Trump. Instead of trying match his reputation and “reach across the divide” between him and the president, little Johnny had to go all self righteous and indignant. If you think about that response, it actually reveals more about McCain than it does Trump. While I’m certain that response made his media hack buddies extremely happy it was at best counter productive. It is further proof of how much he valued media approval over implementing a conservative agenda.

Now that the funeral is over I suspect the gushing wave of sickly sweet syrupy devotion to a media manufactured image will begin dissipating.

It’s about time. I’m drowning in the syrup.
