Tidbits 3

One of the first things conservatives must do is reclaim the language. As my grandfather used to tell me, words mean things. If he told me once, he told me a thousand times, say what you mean or mean what you say. The following Associated Press story is a good example of what he was trying to teach me.

The AP reported that a woman, shopping at a Victoria’s Secret in Manhattan, was caught with a dead baby in her bag. Even after revelations that Tiona Rodriguez, the women in question, suffocated her baby shortly after its birth, the AP could still not bring itself to call the victim a baby. From the story;

     An autopsy of a fetus found in a teenage girl’s shopping bag at a New York City lingerie store was inconclusive, and more tests will be needed to determine how the fetus died, the city medical examiner’s office says.

The case began Thursday when a security guard stopped two 17-year-old girls to examine their bags at a Victoria’s Secret store in midtown Manhattan. The guard found the dead fetus in one of the bags.

The girl who had been carrying the bag containing the fetus told detectives she had delivered a day earlier and didn’t know what to do, authorities said. [Emphasis is mine]

So, the AP knew the baby was born alive and had reason to suspect the baby had been asphyxiated and they still referred to the baby as a fetus. Kind of tells you something about the AP, doesn’t it.

Who says religion in the USA is not alive and well? In what can hardly be described as a stunning move The Los Angeles Times has decided to no longer publish letters from those who question man made climate change.

In defending this outright censorship Times letters editor Paul Thornton blubbered, “Simply put, I do my best to keep errors of fact off the letters page; when one does run, a correction is published. Saying ‘there’s no sign humans have caused climate change’ is not stating an opinion, it’s asserting a factual inaccuracy.”

Apparently his faith-based devotion to global warming is not sturdy enough to face legitimate criticism. So, as a concerned liberal desperately seeking to control, uhm sorry, protect us stupid non-liberals from ourselves, he will take it upon himself to establish what the facts are and tell us what to think.

Princeton physics professor William Happer told Fox News that the Times “should be ashamed of itself” regarding this decision.

The head of the Laboratory of Biochemical Genetics and Metabolism at The Rockefeller University in New York, Jan Breslow said, “There was an effective embargo on alternative opinions, so making it official really does not change things.”

Breslow and Happer are part of a group of climate scientists that wrote “No Need to Panic About Global Warming” for The Wall Street Journal in January 2012. The article argued that the call to “decarbonize” the world’s economy is not supported by science.

What these scientists do not understand is that the manmade global warming fanatics do not want science involved in the debate. Belief in global warming is as close to a religion as these people will ever get and they simply will not allow any “so called science” to shake the foundations of their faith.

The tolerance of liberals is well documented but it is appropriate every now and then to be reminded of just how understanding liberals really are.

Capitol Police are investigating online threats made by an individual against Texas senator Ted Cruz, a spokesperson from the senators office said Friday.
The graphic threats were made on Twitter and consisted of the following;

Cruz needs to be “taught a street wise lesson.”

“Lets Find Ted Cruz, Texas address and show up his House, drag him out and                     B***h slap his A** in front of the country,”

“Take down Ted Cruz, at his home.” This tweet listed Cruz’s home address in
              Houston. His home address was repeatedly retweeted.

“Ted Cruz, we want you a** go the f*** back in Canada, else you and ur family
              will pay. U got a f***ing big mouth.”

Another threatening post advocates hanging Cruz by his “small balls if he tries
               another ‘ShutdownTactic.’”

The Kenyan little Barry is doubtlessly proud of just how well his followers have adopted his Chicago style thug tactics.

Finally, in an effort to prove just how financially responsible the federal government is, the Kenyan used a no bid contract to hire the company that designed and built the website healthcare.gov.

The website creation was budgeted at around $60 million. It’s cost to date is over $634 million and rising. As an interesting aside, the company that helped build the website was fired by the Canadian government for botching a similar effort.

If the government cannot do something as simple as hire a competent web developer to build a website, can you imagine the devastation coming to your healthcare?
