As true today as it was then.
As true today as it was then.
Here is my impression of Justice Roberts, “Please Mr. Obama, I’ve just shredded
the Constitution, please don’t call me an extremist anymore! I’ll be good from now on. I promise!”
To those who claim this harsh I remind you that extreme satire in the defense of liberty is no vice.
By telling the liberal elite that they can now use the tax code to force us, the great un-washed masses to purchase anything, Justice Roberts has opened the floodgates. Does anyone really believe Mr. Obama will wait for a second term to try and complete the radical transformation of this country that he started just a few short years ago? How long before we are required to buy electric cars? Or paint our roofs white?
There are many decisions from the court that over the last twenty years that have slowly chipped away at the freedoms and rights our constitution was created to preserve. Kilo and Obama Care are the two most hideous.
In the Kilo decision the court gave the government the right, liberals like to say the moral obligation, to take the property of one person and give it to another. Tin plated dictators around the world have wet dreams about this sort of power.
Kilo removes your right to own private property and now Obama Care gives the government the right to make you purchase whatever they deem necessary, and use the power and intimidation of the IRS to make you do so.
There is no doubt that the individual mandate in Obama Care does not stand up to the constitutional smell test. Even the most cursory glance at the Constitution shows the document limits the government not the people. Of course if you graduated from public school you can probably neither read the document nor understand the concepts it promotes. You can no doubt though explain in great detail the glorious accomplishments of the NEA.
I am curious to know how 2700 pages of “as the Secretary of Health and Human Services shall determine” could even be remotely considered constitutionally acceptable. Didn’t the Constitution say something about congress getting to making the laws? Oops, there I go again, attempting to apply logic and reason to a situation where it isn’t warranted.
Justice Roberts wanted a legacy. He now has it. He is now an official part of an administration and policy that has removed one of the most important rights we have, the right to choose for ourselves when and what we purchase. He is now the capstone to one of the most blatantly corrupt sales jobs in recent history. The passage of Obama Care could only be accomplished with bribery ie, “The Cornhusker Kickback” and the “Louisiana Purchase” are the first two that come to mind.
The practices of bribery and intimidation are the hallmarks of a traditional banana republic. Mr. Roberts instead of turning my country into a banana republic why don’t you just pack up move to one. I hear Cuba is nice this time of year and they even have free healthcare.
